Last Saturday, 25 October, the Barcelona Packaging Hub held the first edition of its Paddle Tournament, an event that brought together professionals from across the sector in a relaxed, sporting and highly collaborative atmosphere. More than just a competition, it served as a space to strengthen relationships, create new connections and enjoy a morning away from the usual work environment.
Strong turnout from across the Hub’s ecosystem
The tournament drew an outstanding level of participation from both the Hub’s member companies and its technological partners. Among the associated companies in attendance were Synchropack, INVpack, Mengibar, Posimat, TMI and UBS, while the partner network was represented by Balluff, Omron, Rexroth, Schneider Electric, Copadata and SMC. This strong turnout highlighted the shared commitment of the companies that make up the Hub and reinforced the collaborative spirit that defines the organisation.
A day to enjoy, far beyond the final score
The tournament was open to all levels, from regular players to those taking part for the first time, which helped create an inclusive and engaging atmosphere across every court. Beyond the scoreboards, what truly stood out was the fair play, teamwork, and the enthusiasm to share a different kind of experience.
Throughout the morning, several prize draws were held, with gifts such as a racket bag, a paddle racket and a pair of sports shoes awarded to attendees, helping to keep the atmosphere lively, festive and engaging all day long.
At the end of the tournament, the awards ceremony took place, recognising the winning pairs in each category:
- Beginner category: Javier Martínez and Sergio Granado (Mengibar)
- Intermediate category: Marc Navarro and Àlex Muñoz (Balluff)
- Advanced category: Javier Ruesgas and Sergio Rozas (Posimat)

An event that continues to strengthen the community
This first edition proved that paddle tennis can be an excellent way to keep fostering collaboration among companies in the sector, creating new spaces where professional relationships grow in a closer and more human setting. Break Padel Sabadell provided the perfect venue for this first gathering, with comfortable facilities and an ideal atmosphere to enjoy the day.
Following the success of this first edition, the Barcelona Packaging Hub Paddle Tournament is set to become a recurring initiative aimed at continuing to strengthen synergies between member companies and technological partners.
